Mumbai Indian bowlers limit Punjab kings to 135

Abu Dhabi: The Mumbai Indians put in a more confident bowling performance, limiting the Punjab Kings to 135/6 in 20 overs in Abu Dhabi tonight (September 28, 2021). Captain Rohit Sharma will be delighted as Jasprit Bumrah and Kieron Pollard delivered the first blows to stifle the Punjab’s sleeves.

After being batted, Punjab encountered early problems losing Mandeep Singh, who replaced Mayank Agarwal. A double strike from Pollard knocked out skipper KL Rahul (21) and Chris Gayle in an over, and the Punjab never recovered.

Aidan Markram (42 of 29 balls) and Deepak Hooda (28) repaired the damage with a stand of 61, but they couldn’t continue. Now is the time for the Mumbai hitters to show off their chops, but they haven’t been in great shape. Perhaps this is their chance to reconnect.
