ok then maybe ultimately it will become a battle royale and add NFTs

Ubisoft revealed a new game code name Project Qand he’s already putting a fire vest out the door – and with Ubisoft, it’s no secret that people are going immediately side-eye a new multiplayer game announcement.

You know it’s an extremely 2022 game reveal when the parent company has to hijack some industry practices, and that’s exactly what the company did immediately Following says reveal. After showing initial concept art, Ubisoft noted “by the way, this is not a Battle Royale. Project Q will feature a variety of PvP modes with one goal in mind: FUN! Then we added “We have no plans to add any NFTs to this game, you can find out more by registering and participating in upcoming tests!”

Oh okay then! I guess it’s good that they eliminated that! But that leaves people in this weird zone where we know more about what the game isn’t than what it is. The “pleasure goal” reminds me of the infamous Born warrior already tweeted. Time will tell what “letting players truly own the experience” even means: but that wording was certainly a first clue for people to ask about NFTs.

Project Q is in “early development” at Ubisoft and is currently planned for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Series X/S. You can sign up here. While it follows the current history of online crowd-tested Ubisoft games, it will go through multiple alpha/beta periods and possibly release in the next three years at a minimum.
